Organized, team-player, "at home" in the company of children
About Ms. Tonya
What I love about my job:
”I love the smiles and unconditional love from the children.”
I jump out of bed to come to work because I get to:
- Teach the children in a loving environment while being surrounded by the Word, love and life of God.
- Witness the daily excitement in the children’s faces when they accomplish something new.
- Be part of a wonderful team of staff, teachers, parents and children.
My prayer each day:
”is that the children learn as much as they can, make friends and are surrounded in God’s love.”
Three words that best describe me:
Organized, team-player, ”at home” in the company of children
A Little more about Ms. Tonya:
God has always guided me to the right place when teaching, beginning with teaching Sunday school, coaching 6th grade softball, and coaching Special Olympic swimming and basketball teams while in high school. After moving to Texas with my husband and son, I had the opportunity to volunteer in my son’s Head Start preschool class and was encouraged to consider becoming a teacher. I began as a teacher’s aide at a Christian preschool, immediately falling in love with the job and its nurturing environment. Two years later I was asked to become a lead teacher. I have had the privilege of teaching young children for over 15 years in Christian preschools and look forward to many more. I am filled with joy when I see the children learn something new, make a new friend or just come through my school door with big smiles. I love getting to see the children grow with God. I am so blessed to work at FLDS … I truly love my job!
