Do you offer any extended day options?
Children ages 2 through kindergarten have an optional extended day until 2:30 pm on Monday through Fridays. Jr K and Kindergarten have an additional option of Karate on Tuesday and Thursday until 2:30.
Do you offer summer programs?
FLDS offers two fun-filled weeks for summer camp for children ages 2 thru 7 (completed 2nd grade). Vacation Bible School is offered as well through Faith Lutheran Church.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
We ask that all children entering our 3 year old program be self-sufficient in the bathroom. We know that accidents happen and we will help your child transition into becoming independent.
How do I communicate with my child's teacher?
FLDS teachers and staff value their relationships with you as parents and your children. Please feel free to communicate with your child’s teachers either in person or via email. See your child’s teacher for the best times and contact information.
Is FLDS accredited?
Yes, FLDS is licensed by the State of Texas (DFPS), and follows all the guidelines and standards required by the State of Texas. FLDS is currently accredited by the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association.
What ages of children do you serve?
We have classes serving children ages 18 months through five years old.
- 18 months class: child must be 18 months by September 1
- Two year old class: child must be two by September 1
- Three year old class: child must be three by September 1
- Pre-K class: child must be four by September 1
- Jr. K class: child must be five by October 31
- Kindergarten: child must be five by September 1

What days of the week can my child come to school?
18 months: Two day or Four Day program ~ either T/TH, W/F, or T-F
Two year olds: Two Day or Four day program ~ either T/TH, W/F, or T-F
Three year olds: Two Day, Three Day, or Five Day program ~ either T/TH, M/W/F, or M-F
Pre-K: Two Day, Three day, or Five Day Program ~ either T/TH, M/W/F, or M-F
Jr. K: Four Day program ~ Tuesday through Friday
Kindergarten: Five day program ~ Monday through Friday
What hours are school classes in session?
The children attend class from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm.
What is the classroom teacher to student ratio by age?
We believe in keeping our ratios low to ensure every child gets the attention he or she needs.
- 18 months: 1:3
- Twos: 1: 5
- Threes: 1:5
- Pre-K: 1:7
- Jr. K: 1:8

What is your Educational Philosophy?
Faith Lutheran Day School believes that a high quality Christian early childhood program provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes spiritual, cognitive, social, physical and emotional development of young children and their families.
What types of fundraisers do you have?
FLDS fundraisers not only raise funds for our school, but also provide wonderful opportunities for students and their families to have fellowship with one another and serve in volunteer capacities. We have an annual Fall Festival in October, an annual Scholastic book fair, a Holiday Market in November, an annual Stuff Sale in February and various restaurant nights throughout the year.
What methods of payment do you accept?
You may pay with a check made payable to FLDS, cash, or you may contact your bank to see about using online banking. We also have the ability to auto-draft from your checking or savings account (ACH). If you are interested in ACH please stop by the school office. At this time we do not accept credit cards.
What should my child bring to school?
Each child should bring:
- A back pack with a complete change of clothes
- Children who are not potty trained (2′s & 18 months) need to bring diapers and wipes
- Each child should bring their own lunch each school day
- Each child will have a folder from school that he/she will bring to school each day
What "Specials" classes will my child attend?
Every child goes to Chapel once a week.
The three year old, pre-k, junior k and kindergarten classes go to Music class each week. Be sure to check out the Music page on our site to see what we are doing in Music class!
The two year old through kindergarten classes participate in Fit for Faith class once a week. Be sure to check out the Fit for Faith page on our site to see what we are doing in class!
The kindergarten class attends Spanish class once a week.
When can I register my child?
Enrollment takes place during February for the next school year. If February enrollment has passed, please go to the Waiting List Form page and submit your request. We will contact you and let you know if we have any openings available. If not, we will put you on our waiting list and notify you when an opening becomes available. When is tuition due
Tuition is due before the 10th of each month, starting in May, followed by September through April.
Checks may be written to FLDS or Faith Lutheran Day School. Currently we do not have the capability to accept credit/debit cards. However, you may check with your bank to use your online banking to pay us. We also have the ability to auto-draft from your checking or savings account. Will my child participate in Special Programs at FLDS and when are they held?
Each year there is a Christmas program involving all of the students and there are graduation programs for the four year old classes, pre-K classes, and Kindergarten classes. They are usually held on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday morning soon after drop off. The staff at FLDS knows that young children more often do their best early in the day and are successful after a good breakfast rather than in the evening closer to their bedtime.
